Overview
This chapter is about the changes Africa experienced after the 15th century, primarily the increased interaction with Europeans. European merchants brought manufactured goods and new crops to sub-Saharan Africa, causing population growth throughout the continent. However, millions of African slaves were also shipped to Western lands by Europeans through the slave trade, leading to conquest and war.
